The pension plan for Florida Conference clergy is changing Jan. 1, 2007, the new plan is called The Clergy Retirement Security Program (CRSP). The plan was approved May 6 at the 2004 General Conference of The United Methodist Church and is the official pension plan of The United Methodist Church for all eligible clergy.

An orientation session was be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Tampa. Ron Coleman from the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits explained the new program and how it impacts future retirement. There was question and answer time following the presentation.

The orientation was also web cast live so those who were not be able to attend the session at Hyde Park could access the orientation as it is being presented either at their home or office through the conference Web site or at one of 12 other district locations. The district locations provided churches an opportunity to view the Web cast as a group with other churches in their district.
